The Texas Board of Nurses currently does not allow a nurse in the emergency department to administer propofol IV.  The National ENA has recently released a position statement in favor of extending this skill to nurses in the ED with demonstrated competency.  Texas ENA has not yet taken an official stand on this issue.  As a nurse praciticing in an emergency care setting, how do you feel about this issue?
